Track 14: Bashment Girl by BRNGTN
Hailing, from Brownsville, Brooklyn, looming with extraordinary potential is BRNGTN (Barrington), dubbed the “Easy Rocking Weirdo.” Barry (which most of his friends call him) possesses such a passion and enthusiasm for the musical art form that to even deny him would be utterly restricting to his right of passage. Rhyming words coupled with the slickest of metaphors can be any young kid’s meal ticket out of the harsh reality of the ghetto, but for this Brooklyn born MC it’s a skill so very well honed it became second nature. Armed with his Freshman EP currently on the market entitled “Hopkinson Ave”, BRNGTN has worked & collaborated with talented artists alike such as CX Kidtronik, 77 Klash, Jah Dan Blakkamore, Instinct from De Tropix as well as High Priest from the group well known as Anti Pop Consortium. Refusing to be boxed in like so many others before him, BRNGTN’s musical influences ranges anywhere from classic rocksteady reggae to experimental rock on up to modern day hip hop. The song “CALLING” received instant popularity and acceptance amongst the genre’s wide audience seeing that it not only made its debut, it was also featured numerous times on Jamaica’s Top Ten Billboard. The artist, BRNGTN whom has been working on building a dream that is slowly becoming his very own reality, has also had quite the privilege of gracing the stages of various performance venues in and around the New York City area. It’s clearly evident BRNGTN lives and breathes a kaleidoscope of performing and recording experience. Open and like minded music lovers need only apply. Rudebwoy vibes with a b-boy sensibility is the best way to describe Barry's unique musical style.
